Well, we’re in a terrible economy right now. One of the things that’s being affected by that is the real estate market. People are having difficultly selling their home. And others are worried to buy a home! But if you’re plotting on doing either, here are some free real estate websites that will help you out.

Zillow.com It’s a fantastic website to get a sense of property values. It has tools for both buyers and sellers. It’s also perfect for real estate agents to gain exposure.

RealEstateABC.com They offer plenty of articles and services to help you in the process of buying or selling a home. And you’ll want to try their online calculators to calculate things like how you’ll pay your mortgage!

Homethinking.com It’s an online service that helps homeowners choose real estate agents! They measure performance by monitoring real estate transactions to know which houses each real estate agent has sold, for how much and how long it took them to do it!

PropertyShark.com You can find information about properties all across the country. Just click on the region that you’re interested in, and you can find out all there is to know about properties there.

Trulia.com It scrapes other real estate websites to find listings and brings it all together. You can find homes for sale and get real estate information on the local level.

HotPads.com It’s a map based search. You can customize maps to show the kind of information you’re looking for, like schools or public transportation. And you can choose to be alerted whenever a property that adjusts to your interests shows up on the site.

HousingMaps.com This website combines two websites together: Craigslist and Google Maps. It has all of the features of Google Maps so you can easily zoom in and out on the map. And it has all the features of Craiglist. So you can filter listings by location, price, or number of rooms.

Thanks for that list - I love your breakdown of what each one does. I actually have been using one that isn't on your list that you might want to check out. It is called Property Maps (www.propertymaps.com). This site's unique feature is a google maps/mls mash-up that has been very helpful. Thanks again for the info.
